A Collection of mainly Austronesian & Austro-asiatic loin looms, mentioned also backstrap looms, waist looms or scientifically defined body-tensioned hand looms. There are several types of backstrap weaving looms, that all started with foot looms and developed up to a kind of half-framed looms.
There is not that much left of the loin loom cultures in Thailand. Just the Karen people at the borderline to Myanmar are still using backstrap looms. The rest of Thailand has swopped to frame looms by the influence of Indian cotton weaving techniques.
